Spyker Attacks Super Aguri and Toro Rosso
The Spyker team has filed its legal complaint against Super Aguri and Toro Rosso, according to a report in Autosport. This is no surprise, seeing the results of the Super Aguri car in the first race of the season, and I mentioned it below in another blog item.
At issue is that the F1 legal agreement known as the Concorde Agreement, says that each team must build its own car. That's what makes F1 unique amongst racing series, and it is also integral to how a team makes money out of the television rights, according to their position in the constructors' championship at the end of the season. So as there is potentially several million dollars at stake, no wonder Spyker - which was so solidly beaten on the track last weekend by Super Aguri - is taking the teams to arbitration in Switzerland for a legal decision on the matter.
