McLaren In United States

Friday September 5, 2008

A couple of months ago I spoke about Formula 1 teams using a wind tunnel in the United States. Now, the McLaren Mercedes team has opened up an office in the U.S. for its electronics racing business.

In a statement the team today said: "McLaren's UK-based electronics arm already has a firm foothold in the USA: it provides mechanical components for all three NASCAR championships (the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Craftsman Truck Series), electronics and software for the Indy Racing League and track support systems for the American Le Mans sportscar series.

Situated in Mooresville, North Carolina - close to Charlotte, the heartland of the NASCAR stockcar racing community - McLaren Electronics Inc will enable the company to offer increased support to its existing customers while also improving and extending its North American infrastructure.
