There are lots of bad feelings against Ferrari in all of these scandals, whether or not Ferrari was the reason behind it or not. It is often argued that Ferrari is indispensable to the health of the F1 world championship. But with all the scandals and the impression given off that Ferrari has a different set of rules than the other teams, is it worth it? Is it worth keeping the sport's most illustrious team when the public relations disasters that keep arising soil the image of the sport as a whole? At the bottom of it, is Ferrari worth it?!?

F1 wouldn’t be the same without the most successful team in F1 history not participating. The problem with F1 is its consistency of handing out ridiculous rulings. In the recent past, F1 fans have seen McLaren taking lashings from the the FIA’s whipping board. On the other hand, Ferrari emerges unscathed whenever rules appear to be breached. If the FIA decides to apply the sporting regs consistently and with parity, then all things would be sweet-smelling and rosy! The real question is this: with all the money that is made by the teams and governing bodies, why aren’t full-time stewards, with past racing experience, hired? Apparently, these people aren’t even paid! The stewards should be 2nd on the list, in terms of importance to any grand prix, with the drivers and their safety coming first. Rectify the steward issue and all will be/ would be fine! Ferrari not being involved in F1 would do much more harm than good! After all, fans want to see as many car makers participating in F1 as possible, including myself!
I have been a formula one fan for 40 years,It will be a pleasure to watch a formula 1 series in which the holier than thou cheating conniving ferrari are not involved.Also has anyone thought to check the financial affairs of the pervert mosley and his stewards.
What Formula 1 *could* do without is the FIA.
It’s too much of an old boys club to have any kind of credibility as a governing body.
When your the best, you’re always in the spotlight. When you set the standard, others will do all they can to beat you, fair or not. Hence the reason Ferrari has been “involved” in these scandals. F1 without Ferrari would fail!
WOULD FORMULA ONE SURVIVE WITHOUT MCLAREN? YES I THINK SO.
That means you too, Spurgeon!!
Thanks Biz Man. I did give some thought on that angle, and I concluded that Formula 1 would do just fine without me. But perhaps unlike Ferrari and McLaren, I also concluded that I would survive perfectly well without Formula 1 also – particularly without an F1 that cannot rid itself of avoidable scandals….
That is very enlightened of you. Indeed, last week might’ve been avoidable, if everyone involved learned and interpreted the rules correctly. I’m most tired of that, pundits who report on emotion and conjecture rather than fact. More fact, less fiction.
The sport would definately suffer losing a top team…… but a team (Ferrari) that cheats to be #1 at all costs and has a very extended TEAM (Max & Sterawds) on the side to help them along the way I know the sport could do without them. I was a diehard Ferrari fan until last years scandal and I saw the true colour of Ferrari !!
@Todd……
??????!!!!!!!!!???????? mclaren stole data. they are the thief. and u stop supporting ferrari????? LOL… from ur qoute we all can see u were never a Tifoso….
OR
Probably u r suffering from amnesia. ****ing Mclaren stole data. not ferrari. Mclaren should be happy to be still in F1….
Ferrari = F1……. synonyms…..
I have to say yes it could survive without ferrari but only if another team stepped in that would fill its place with the money and backing. the problem i see is the cost limiting. they keep changing the standards. and try to keep the cost down yet they let teams in that cant afford to race in the series. now if we could get vw lotus porsche.
anyway i think people forget the fact that ferrari itself used to be penalized a ton. senna was notorious for some things shue was criticized for. problem is winners are hated.
get rid of the fia and the billion dollar race price tags and open the cap back up. or cut the cap and create strict rules and make it to where whiting does not collect his paycheck from the fia. let it be a team owned enterprise meaning the teams not the fia so it would be totally unbiased. love ferrari and love formula1. do i see a bias? yes and no. mclaren was caught cheating last year. and who was it the year before? and the year before that people complained about shue parking on that one turn yet the year later alonso does the same thing except there wasnt someone behind him and its ok?
“@ arindam”
just keep to yourself, you obviously know nothing about F1, there is an entire book on how Ferrari screwed themselves by cheating…i have it, they used to be a good team
