Crashed And Byrned
This weekend the F3 series ran its Macao Grand Prix for up-and-coming talents, and a Japanese driver named Keisuke Kunimoto won the event. Who? Doesn't matter. This is one of the most prestigious events of the lower series, and many of its past winners, including Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna, have gone on to great careers in Formula 1.
It is a good time to talk about another little known driver, Tommy Byrne. Byrne, who made a name for himself in F3 before moving on to take part in 5 F1 races, has written - along with Mark Hughes of Autosport, one of the year's great racing books. I've written a review of the Irishman's book, called Crashed and Byrned. And as you'll see, I highly recommend it.
