Vettel Wins in Suzuka

Sunday October 4, 2009

It may have been a letdown of a race after the wild qualifying, but there is no doubt that the result makes the final two races - or at least the next one - all the more exciting. Sebastian Vettel drove a fabulous race to victory to draw within 16 points of Jenson Button in the drivers' series. And Button also lost a point on his teammate, Rubens Barrichello, who finished in seventh, or one spot ahead of the British driver.

I hear a lot of people complaining these days that if Button does win the title, it's hardly a very exciting way to do it. No victories since Turkey in early June. Little of anything at all as he coasts toward the title. While it seems a lot to ask of Vettel to have to practically have to win the next two races minimum to take the title, we need only think about Button's own 6 victories in seven races at the start of the season. Why not?
