Crazy F1 Testing in the Off-Season

I cannot remember the last time it was so difficult to figure out which teams had created the best cars through looking at winter testing.  This year there have been so many different leaders of the time sheets after two weeks of testing that it is impossible to read anything into which teams have the best cars.  Today the fastest car was a Sauber, driven by Kamui Kobayashi.

Could the teams really be doing all they can to hide their game?  There must be some kind of psychological war going on here, certainly.  Something akin to the kind of thing that happens amongst the drivers themselves as they head into title battles perhaps?  Who knows.  Or maybe it just has to do with some of the less well funded teams doing all they can to get fastest laps during a time when the rules are not the same as on track... while the bigger teams take their time preparing the cars....
