The Formula 1 schedule has been playing into Sebastian Vettel's hands, as his run of four victories started with the Singapore Grand Prix and its night race at the end of September, and went on through the Japanese, Korean and Indian Grand Prix races that all followed each other in such quick succession that it was no possible for anyone else to catch their breath...and Vettel and his Red Bull team just rolled onward through the victories.
Fernando Alonso may be trying to break through this roll and Vettel's confidence by saying that he and not Vettel will win the title, but he's likely to have a hard time this coming weekend at the series' only day-to-night race. With the Singapore Grand Prix, the Abu Dhabi race is the only other one to take place under the spotlights of artificial lighting. And that situation seems to appeal to Vettel. He won the first two editions of the race, and he probably would have won last year's third edition were it not for a tire puncture sending him spinning off the track at the start. I suspect he will return not with his roll of four wins this year in mind, but with the unfinished business of last season. Can't wait to see. And hope I'm wrong!
