Traditionally, kart engines are two-stroke 100cc to 125cc powerhouses. Lately, though, four-stroke engines have begun to take over.

Although karting is the most accessible form of motor racing, and the school for children wanting to make their way to Formula 1, it is still an expensive sport. And no wonder. The engines, for example, are finely engineered, fine-tuned gems.
