Lewis Hamilton returned to Europe after winning his first two races in the North American leg of the championship, taking the victory in Canada and the United States. He returned to Europe as a star, and found that his personal life had become strange, as he was being recognized by people everywhere. At the French Grand Prix, he would not win the race, but he would continue his extraordinary string of podium finishes, taking third place - behind the two Ferraris.
