The FIA released the provisional schedule for the 2008 Formula 1 championship in July 2007. Canada was listed as provisional, and the new race in the streets of Singapore depended on whether or not the circuit would be approved.
Turkey moved much earlier in the year in order to make way for the new location of the European Grand Prix, in Valencia, Spain.
And then there is the news that the French Grand Prix is back on the calendar. After most of the teams kissed it goodbye in their previews for the race this year, and Bernie Ecclestone did not attend and said that it was finished - it is back. Since the race, the French government got back in on the deal, it seems, and helped to push it through.
