On speculation about his contract situation at BMW Sauber, and rumors that he has been speaking to other teams - such as Toyota - for a move to a new team next season:

I don’t speak about that at all. I think first of all it’s quite early in the season. I’m happy at BMW. And for the rest I will keep quiet.

About how it is a good time to talk about his future since his results and performance were so good in the first races of the 2007 season:

Yes definitely. So far it couldn’t be better. Our progress has been fantastic over the last 1 ½ years. I hope it will continue like that. And to be honest I don’t expect it to continue like that for the next couple of years. Our goal is to be world champion, but you have to be prepared for a setback. In the long-term I still hope that we can fight for the title in a few years.

On whether he wants his future contract with a team in F1 decided quickly, or whether it is all right to wait until the end of the season:

I don’t want to wait too long. The earlier the better. I think I’m in a good position, I would like to have it sorted out earlier rather than later.

On whether he told Mario Theissen, his team director, that he would like it decided soon:

I spoke to him yes.

Inferring that staying at BMW must be his first choice:

Yes, as I said, I like it very much here. We are successful.

Why he thinks the German media is speculating so much on him making an effort to change teams:

Maybe because Michael [Schumacher] isn’t here anymore?

On whether there is more attention on the other German drivers now that Michael Schumacher is gone:

Well people watch us more yes, but it’s not more pressure. At least not for me. I don’t feel that is pressure.

On whether more attention is better:

I don’t mind the attention. I don’t care if there is more or less. But I guess it’s not bad for BMW.
